While I am often given a plethora of different titles, the official name is Dustin Wilcox. I am a 21 year old from the great state of Nebraska. Raised in the small town of Arlington NE, I currently reside in the City of Lincoln NE, where I am wrapping up a Bachelor Degree in Natural Resource and Environmental Economics with a couple of Minors, one in Agricultural Economics and another in Fisheries and Wildlife Management. I am enjoying college and all of its benefits but am also anxious about pursuing a career, I am currently interning for one of NE's NRD's (Natural Resource District). Obviously if you have made it this far you are well aware of one of my hobbies, Storm Chasing. While I enjoy an overabundance of other activities fishing, hunting, parties, sports, road trips, photography, ext…ext… none surpass my passion for weather. Many wonder why if I am so passionate about the weather why did I not major in Meteorology, in fact I started my Freshman year as a Meteorology major, but after some re-evaluation aided with a quick look at the Job market, I realized it is a field better suited as a hobby opposed to a job for me. A job in Meteorology would simply take away the aspect of the weather that I so enjoy, as a Meteorologist, I would simply be working indoors during any substantial events as opposed to being witness to them. Therefore, I discontinued my official Meteorological education though I have continued to aggressively expand my knowledge of Meteorology primarily severe weather. While I have lots to learn, and always will, I feel a lifetime of observing and studying severe weather combined with in the field experience with many veterans, has left me with enough knowledge to accurately forecast severe weather, as well as safely and knowledgably pursue it, what I like to call storm chasing! Each chaser has their own unique style of chasing, personally I enjoy getting close. When it can safely be done, I strive for the intense action found only up close, this allows me to experinece the most dramatic of what mother nature can whip up!!!
